Courthouses

People sometimes wonder where their divorce or child support case is going to be filed. Generally, the case will be filed in the county where you reside. If, however, you and your spouse reside separately and you have children, the case should be filed in the county where the minor child is residing. This is also true for parents who are not married. You do not have to file a dissolution of marriage proceedings in the county in which your marriage took place.

For DuPage County, the main courthouse is located at: 505 County Farm Rd., in Wheaton, IL.

For Will County, the main courthouse is located at: 14 W. Jefferson, Joliet, IL.

For Cook County, the main courthouse is located at: Daley Center, 50 W. Washington, IL.

For Kane County, the main courthouse is located at: 37W777 Route 38, St. Charles, IL.

For Kendall County, the main courthouse is located at: 807 W. John St., Yorkville, IL.
