Naperville Traffic Violation Lawyers

Traffic Law Attorneys Representing Clients in DuPage, Will, and Cook Counties

Many people do not take traffic violations seriously, but they can have more serious consequences than you can imagine. For example, multiple convictions for traffic tickets can lead to losing your driving privileges, which can significantly impact your life and your livelihood. If your driving privileges are important to you, you should consult an experienced traffic attorney when you receive a violation. At J. Aldrich Law, P.C., we help clients fight the consequences of traffic violations. Protecting your driving privileges and your driving record is our priority in these cases.

Experienced Traffic Violation Representation

Whenever you get a traffic ticket, it is wise to consult with a knowledgeable attorney rather than simply paying the traffic citation. Paying the ticket is the same as pleading guilty to the violation and can result in increased insurance premiums and a mark against your driving record among other consequences. Depending on the nature of the violation, it is often possible to avoid or greatly diminish the consequences of a conviction with proper representation. In some instances, it is possible to be found “not guilty” at trial or to have a traffic violation against you dismissed by a judge. Our attorneys are experienced in handling all types of traffic cases including:

  • Speeding and aggravated speeding tickets;
  • Seatbelt violations;
  • Red light tickets;
  • Failure to obey traffic signals and signs;
  • Texting while driving;
  • Construction zone tickets;
  • Driving without a license;
  • Driving on a suspended or revoked license;
  • Driving without insurance;
  • Improper lane usage;
  • Reckless driving;
  • Leaving the scene of an accident (a.k.a. hit-and-run);
  • Fleeing and eluding;
  • Commercial driver’s license (CDL) tickets;
  • Passing a school bus; and
  • Driving under the influence (DUI).

Some drivers do not realize that three convictions for moving violations within a 12-month period will result in a driver’s license suspension for at least three months. Due to the Graduated License Program in Illinois, it is easier for drivers under 21 to lose their driving privileges following moving violations. If you are under 21, you only need to get two convictions for moving violations within a 24-month period for your license to be suspended.

Some traffic infractions also rise to the level of criminal charges. For example, speeding 26 mph or more over the speed limit is considered a Class B misdemeanor. Other traffic violations such as DUI, driving on a suspended or revoked license, and leaving the scene of an accident are also considered criminal offenses that can result in jail time and fines. Our criminal defense attorneys fight to protect your rights and secure a favorable outcome in every case.
